EP280 with James Schrader: Be a Guide, Learn Along the Way, and Take Breaks!

This week's conversation with father, James Schrader, is full of wisdom from a dad who is driven to raise a daughter who is equipped with the courage to pursue things that fill her heart and soul. He is a divorced, single dad, comedian, actor, and writer.

He talks about how taking on a stepdad role early on in adulthood and what it is like being a single dad today. He shares the joy of getting to spend most of the day with his daughter and how his comedian career set him up for it.

Shares about how dads of this generation have the most information regarding parenting ever and how it is shaping today's children. He expands on the impact his dad made on his emotional intelligence as an adult and his drive to equip his young daughter with all of the tools he's learned as an adult.

About the Podcast

Fatherhood Field Notes
Fatherhood Field Notes is where we hear real stories from real men living real lives every week. Fatherhood is not only about being a dad, it incorporates providing and serving a home, loving and serving a spouse, engaging and serving in a community, as well as intentionally serving your children. Fatherhood is an adventure, one full of fun, wild, and messy stories. In this podcast, we will hear stories from real men who have found themselves living the Adventure of Fatherhood. The Craft of Fatherhood episodes are 5-10 minute episodes where your guide Ned Schaut shares stories on his own fatherhood journey.
