EP252 with Jonathan Wayne Freeman: A Father's Evolution of Authenticity
I'm so stoked on this episode with comedian, surfer, father, and rad human - Jonathan Wayne Freeman. We talk fear, comfort, laughter, tacos, and booze.
We discuss how he broke away from the 9-5 to follow his dreams and find more happiness by working for himself. He shares how to combat fear and make big steps to change the betterment of your family despite what our current culture pushes upon us.
He shares how sobriety has shifted his perspective on everything - how it has impacted his home and raising his kids. I love that he shared how partying for decades led to a realization of how damaging this selfishness could be and how it shifted his perspective on what it means to be a man.
We dive deep into authenticity and vulnerability. Our world is infiltrated with fakeness and inauthenticity - realness is where creativity and connection stem from. We cannot afford to not be authentic. He talks about how he sees his drive for realness playing out in his two sons. Above all else, this man exudes authenticity while still being a work in progress and has so much wisdom to share in this conversation.
